Aaron learned to sail on a single-sail Phantom class sailboat on the inland and Great Lakes of Michigan as a boy. He later crewed larger sailing vessels there, and in California, and in Alaska. After college he soon left the water to join corporate America and raise a family; then 25 years later, the water called him back and he listened. He is now a licensed USCG-approved Captain, and certified Sailing Instructor.

“The fun got even better for me when I decided to own something bigger than a day-sailor that left me with a great workout, and usually wet. I invested in a dry, a lot less strenuous to manage, and a great vessel with electric-conversion in mind. The enjoyment of rebuilding a pioneer vessel with no fossil-fuels and later, eco-friendly regenerative power, has been more than worth the same costs toward a much bigger boat (this hasn’t been cheap) with all ecological downsides and I want to share all of it with anyone who is thinking about wanting the same.”

“I consult, instruct, and charter from a safety-first perspective of course, and hold an always updated USCG approved First Aid and CPR certification,(hyperlink to pic of cert?). I also believe boating/sailing and cruising is learned from doing and therefore, I am not a “hands-on” instructor/trainer. My style is playful. I will inject humor and will try to accommodate various definitions of fun (my own included).”

“My most proud accomplishment on the water probably always will be teaching our family’s own teenagers to enjoy our own boat, “E-Soulstice,” and sailing. We have been all around Port Townsend and through the San Juan Islands and make Fisherman’s Bay on Lopez Island our home port. I look forward to being on board with you.”
